CNC Plasma Cutting Machines
CNC Metal Cut builds 11 plasma cutting machines: flat-plate machines from a portable cutter to gantries 8 m wide, plus three machines for pipe and profiles. Tables cover 1300 × 2500 mm and 1500 × 3000 mm sheet; the G2040 and G3060 gantries take 2 × 4 m and 3 × 6 m plate. Plasma cuts 0.5–100 mm plate depending on machine and source, and oxy-fuel torches extend thick-plate capacity to 150–200 mm. For pipe and sections, an 8-axis all-in-one machine cuts Ø100–600 mm pipe and beam profiles, and two beveling machines prepare pipe ends for welding from 2 in up to Ø2000 mm.

How to choose a plasma cutting machine
By sheet size
1300 × 2500 mm for 4 × 8 ft sheet, 1500 × 3000 mm for 5 × 10 ft plate, 2000 × 4000 or 3000 × 6000 mm for large plate, and 4–8 m gantries for the biggest nests.
By thickness
Up to 25 mm: P1325. Up to 30–40 mm: 1500 × 3000 mm tables or the G2040 / G3060. Up to 100 mm: heavy-duty gantry. Beyond that: oxy-fuel torches.
By production volume
Tables suit job shops and mixed work. Gantries use dual drives on both sides of the beam for long shifts on heavy plate.
By cut quality
All machines use linear guides with rack-and-pinion drive. The heavy-duty gantry accepts HD plasma for cleaner, more square edges.
Pipe and profile plasma cutting
Three machines handle round pipe and structural sections instead of flat plate. Choose by pipe diameter and whether you also cut beam profiles.
8-axis all-in-one machine
Cuts round and square pipe from Ø100 to Ø600 mm and H-beam, I-beam, channel and angle on one platform: holes, coping, slotting and bevels in one setup, programmed from Tekla DSTV or AutoCAD DXF.
5-axis pipe cutting and beveling
For pipe from 2 to 24 in and 20 or 40 ft lengths. Swing-and-tilt torch keeps a constant angle on the curved surface for saddle joints and V, Y, K or X bevels.
Large pipe profile cutting machine
For heavy-wall pipe from Ø600 to Ø2000 mm and up to 10 t, with three synchronised chucks, hydraulic follow-up support, 200–400 A plasma and bevels from 0 to ±45°.

Cutting more than plate?
Bar, tube and sections are cut to length before plate parts are profiled. See our metal sawing machines: band saws from Ø300 to Ø1600 mm and CNC circular cold saws for solid bar.
Plasma current and plate thickness
The plasma source sets how thick the machine cuts. Choose it by the thickest plate you cut every day; see the full plasma cutting thickness chart.

| Plasma current | Good-quality cut (edge start) | Production pierce | Typical work |
|---|---|---|---|
| 45 A | up to 10–12 mm | about 6 mm | Thin sheet, signage, HVAC |
| 63–65 A | up to 16–20 mm | about 10 mm | General sheet metal |
| 85 A | up to 20–25 mm | about 12–16 mm | Brackets, base plates |
| 100–105 A | up to 25–32 mm | about 16–20 mm | Fabrication shops |
| 120–125 A | up to 32–38 mm | about 20–25 mm | Thicker structural plate |
| 200 A | up to 50 mm | about 30–32 mm | Heavy plate on gantries |
| 300 A | up to 60 mm | about 40 mm | Heavy fabrication |
| 400 A | up to 80 mm | about 50 mm | Very heavy plate, large pipe |
Typical guidance for mild steel. Stainless steel and aluminum cut thinner. Capacity differs between plasma brands, so we confirm it for the source on your quotation. CNC parts usually start with a pierce, which is roughly half to two thirds of the edge-start thickness.
Plasma or oxy-fuel?
Plasma is faster on sheet and plate up to about 30 mm and is the only choice for stainless steel and aluminum. For carbon steel thicker than about 50 mm, an oxy-fuel torch is cheaper to buy and run. The P1530 and the gantry machines carry both torches. Read plasma vs oxy-fuel cutting for the full comparison.
What your workshop needs
- Electrical supply: 3-phase industrial supply, 380 V as standard; other voltages and 60 Hz on request. Tell us your local voltage and frequency (50 or 60 Hz) before we build the machine.
- Clean, dry compressed air: an air compressor with a refrigerated dryer and filters. We give the flow and pressure for the plasma source you choose.
- A level concrete floor and space to load full sheets with a forklift or crane.
- Fume control: a water table or a down-draft table with an extraction fan, depending on the model.
- A Windows PC for nesting software such as FastCAM, to turn DXF drawings into cutting programs.

Frequently asked questions
How thick can your CNC plasma machines cut?
From 0.5 mm sheet up to 100 mm plate depending on machine and power source: the P1325 cuts 0.5–25 mm, the 1500 × 3000 mm tables up to 30–40 mm, the G2040 and G3060 gantries 0.5–30 mm with plasma and 6–150 mm with oxy-fuel, and the heavy-duty gantry 6–100 mm.
Which machine size should I choose?
The portable cutter suits site work and small budgets. The P1325 (1300 × 2500 mm) takes 4 × 8 ft sheet. 1500 × 3000 mm tables take 5 × 10 ft plate. The G2040 and G3060 gantries take 2 × 4 m and 3 × 6 m plate, and the heavy-duty gantry spans 4–8 m.
Can one machine cut with both plasma and oxy-fuel?
Yes. The P1530, the G2040 and G3060 gantries and the heavy-duty gantry can carry oxy-fuel torches next to the plasma torch for plate beyond plasma range.
Is automatic torch height control included?
Yes. Automatic torch height control is standard on the tables and gantry machines, so the torch follows warped or uneven plate.
Can you cut pipe and beam profiles with plasma?
Yes. The 8-axis all-in-one machine cuts Ø100–600 mm pipe plus H-beam, I-beam, channel and angle. For pipe end preparation, the 5-axis machine covers 2–24 in pipe and the large pipe profile cutting machine covers Ø600–2000 mm, both with bevels from 0 to ±45°.
Which plasma power source do you fit?
Hypertherm or leading Chinese brands from 45 A to 200 A, and HD plasma on the heavy-duty gantry. Tell us your thickest plate and we size the source to it.
